In this video we take a tour of a historic Chicago home, the Clarke House, which is now a city museum.

The house tells the tale of what living in Chicago was like in the early 1800s. It was built in 1836 for Henry B. Clarke and his family, who had come to Chicago from New York state when Chicago was a frontier town of only 300 residents.

A beautiful Greek revival home that is now the oldest surviving home in Chicago, it has an interesting history that includes it being moved twice, the final time close to its original location.

In 2004 the Clarke House underwent restoration to bring it close to its 1800s era look.
