The Hilton Chicago opened up on historic Michigan Boulevard (“Boul Mich”, today known as Avenue) in 1927 as The Stevens.

It was considered the greatest, best hotel in the entire world and indeed it was the largest — with 3,000 guest rooms — for more than 30 years.
