SECRETS of the Chicago Water Tower

This video is all about one of Chicago’s most famous landmarks, the Water Tower and Water Pumping Station

Designed by William W. Boyington in the Gothic Revival architectural style, it was built in 1869 and survived the Great Fire of 1871.

It’s located at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Michigan Avenue, 806 N. Michigan Ave.

The Water Tower is open to the public as City Gallery, an art gallery in the water tower with rotating exhibits.

The castle – like structure inspired the design of White Castle restaurants in the Chicago area.

On the upper level of the water pumping station you will find the Looking Glass Theatre Company. I

n the heart of Magnificent Mile, the Water Tower is a symbol of The Windy City, a proud landmark in the hearts of all true Chicagoans.
